Groups
Child Welfare
This Church is committed to the welfare, nurture and safekeeping of children and young people, and will provide a safe, warm and friendly environment for all. The Church operates clear guidelines for child protection.
Cornerstone Toddlers
Cornerstone Toddlers meet in the Guildhall every Monday morning
during term time from 10.00 until 11.45am.
The group is a great place for parents, carers, and their children to get together. It offers a wide range of toys and activities for children aged 0 to 3 years.
The group is a member of the Preschool Learning Alliance.
Each session costs £1.25 per family. The children play until around 10.45am when we serve drinks and biscuits. We tidy away the toys around 11.20am leaving time for action songs, playing our percussion instruments, and looking at storybooks.
Each week we vary our activities to include painting, play-dough or a craft activity. We have a wide range of toys from baby gyms to ride-on toys. We have construction toys, a play kitchen area, cars, books, and puzzles. We have something to appeal to all the children across the 0 to 3 age range.
On the final session of each term we have a short service held in the Chapel which lasts about 15 minutes.
We begin a new session on Monday 10th September 2007 and expect to have a few spaces for new families
Cornerstone Flower Guild
There is a long standing tradition for fresh flowers to be arranged weekly
in the church to enhance our worship. Flowers are often donated by members
of the congregation to mark a special event, and also to celebrate weddings.
Members of the Guild are volunteers, usually working on Fridays between 10am and 4pm, although general maintenance is required all through the week. All levels of skills are acceptable from 'budding flower arrangers' to 'full blooms'.
Please contact the Guild Co-ordinator who will be happy to talk with you if you feel you can help.
Explore the Faith - Feel the Spirit
This group meets in Cornerstone every couple of weeks at 6.15pm on a weekday evening for about an hour. The style is participatory and the discussion lively. The group decides on a topic for discussion and prayer and a group member introduces it. Courtesy and listening to each other are important. We often make use of the Pastoral Cycle way of doing theology. All are welcome.
Global Issues Group
The Global Issues Group meets bi-monthly to raise awareness, promote action and act on global issues in Cornerstone and Central Milton Keynes. Issues currently being worked on include Christian Aid Week, Trade Justice and HIV/AIDS.
